Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. i.e, BHEL, state-run engineering, and a king-sized manufacturing organization recently declared that they have inducted the first ever Solar Electronic vehicle (EV) charging station on Delhi- Chandigarh highway.
This particular project falls under the Department of Heavy Industry’s scheme named “FAME” (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India).

“The establishment of EV chargers at regular intervals over the entire 250 Km stretch between Delhi and Chandigarh would help range-anxiety among the electric vehicle users and bolster their confidence for inter-city travel”, as said by the BHEL officials.
A.R.Singh (Secretary of DHI) inaugurated the first arrangement in Haryana in the presence of Atul Sobti, Chairman and MD of BHEL.
BHEL expressed, the scope of work they need to do in this project includes engineering, designing, manufacturing, supply, and establishment of the EV charging station along with a central monitoring framework.
