Hareon Solar Technology Co Ltd (SHA:600401) and India’s ReNew Power Ventures Pvt Ltd have brought online a 143-MW solar park in India’s Telangana state.
Touted as the largest photovoltaic (PV) facility in Telangana, the plant covers an area of 1,100 acres in the village of Dichipally, China-based Hareon Solar said this weekend.
The facility, with a direct current (DC) capacity of 172 MW, is powered by over 520,000 of Hareon Solar’s multi-crystalline silicon PV modules which will be generating electricity for the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana. The park’s output will be sold under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the local utility.
The Dichipally solar farm is the largest joint venture project between Hareon Solar and ReNew Power. The companies have partnered on about 300 MW of solar projects in the past two years, according to the statement.
Following commissioning of the Indian project, Hareon’s investments in solar parks outside China have crossed the 600-MW line, Jie Zhang, CEO of Hareon International said.
